Meet the A E Davey and Sons team

Tony Davey Dip.F.D and M.B.I.F.D Tony is responsible for the overall smooth running of A E Davey and Sons Funeral Directors and holds the Diploma in Funeral Directing (since May 1979) and membership of the British Institute of Funeral Directors. Tony firmly believes in offering a highly compassionate, family-orientated and supportive service to every customer, and says ‘The impossible we can do at once; miracles take a little longer’.
Nicola Davey S.M.B.I.F.D As Tony’s daughter, Nicola is the third generation of Daveys and has progressed through the ranks from Cleaner and Tea-girl, to an almost fully-fledged Funeral Director; she is currently studying hard towards the Diploma in Funeral Directing.
Lesley Blackwell Lesley started her career in the funeral trade with a large, corporate organisation. However, a lack of continuity meant that for many years she was unable to provide a complete level of customer service. Lesley joined the A E Davey and Sons Funeral Directors team in early 2011 and has already become an integral part of the business. Lesley says ‘It's nice to be important, but it’s more important to be nice’.
Yvonne Wadsworth Yvonne joined the A E Davey and Sons Funeral Directors team as an Office Administrator in 2010 and looks after all general office administration, accounts, and the collation and administration of charitable donations. However, she has also gained vast experience from assisting the A E Davey and Sons funeral directors, and can now arrange and conduct a funeral, if required.
Steve Pugh From organising coffins and looking after our fleet of vehicles, to driving our hearses and preparing the deceased for viewing in the chapels… Steve is our hard-working workshop man.
Bob, David, John W, John L, Keith L, Keith N, Darren, Ian, Trevor & Phil Lovingly referred to as our ‘likely lads’, this dedicated and hard-working group acts as chauffeurs and bearers. All are trained to the highest possible standards and offer an exceptional level of service through their compassionate, helpful, and dignified work ethic.
